A few years ago my grandpa was diagnosed with Dementia. It has been one of the most difficult things my family has gone though especially my grandma. Growing up my grandparents were the ones who took care of us after school, took care of us when we were sick, and were there when we needed them the most. The most difficult thing is that today, my grandpa does not know who we are.
My grandpas legacy is not this horrible disease. His legacy is being a great husband, father, grandpa, sibling, faithful catholic, lending hand, loving heart, and lastly a huge role model to his kids and grandkids. No matter how many bad days my grandpa faces he will always have a smile on his face.
Today there is not cure, but we hope to see the day that they find one. We are given the opportunity to raise money that will end this terrible disease. We as a family do not want to continue living in fear wondering if we will also develop it.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
