You can spot me because I will walk carrying a full bouquet--Purple – I carry purple for those I have lost. For mygreat-grandmother, grandfather, aunt, father-in-law and all my residents whose care I had had the honor of being part of.
Yellow – I will carry yellow for all the staff, caregivers and family members I support daily in my professional role. For my staff, my “angels earning their wings” who care daily for our residents. For the families whose tears we share. I will carry yellow, and remember my grandmother, a caregiver who lost her life from caregiver stress just weeks before my grandfather with Alzheimer’s I vow to work daily so no one else experiences theloss of two to one disease. It does not have to be.
Blue – I will carry blue to honor my mother, currently in the late stages of the disease because she cannot attend the walk and carry this flower for herself.
Orange – I carry the orange flower to show support for the Alzheimer’s Association. For all the advocates, caregivers, donors and others who share my passion and purpose.
White – This year I will add a white flower to my bouquet as a symbol that we will one day find a way to slow down, delay onset and find a cure. I will carry the white flower as a reminder that I will hopefully, one day put myself out of business. In the meantime, I will walk…
