I'm back, fundraising again for the San Luis Obispo Alzheimer's Walk October 31, 2020. This year we're facing many new challenges in all parts of our daily lives. Members of the Alzheimer's community facing the daunting task of living with and caring for those with the disease have no recourse and face even greater isolation. Alzheimer's doesn't recognize, care, or stop for any reason. It doesn't give any consideration to a pandemic. But we can all help by supporting them through donations to the Alzheimer's Walk. The walk is the primary fund-raiser and source of income for the local Alzheimer's offices throughout the country. Alzheimer's Association services are free. I know that times are tough and we're all facing financial challenges. I ask that you help in whatever way that you can. No amount is too small for this cause.
It doesn't seem possible but this is my fourth Alzheimer's Walk since losing Lee to this devastating disease. There's not a day that goes by that I'm not reminded in some way of his courageous battle. His humor, courage, and integrity live on in all of us fortunate enough to have known him. I support this walk every year not only to honor Lee but to help the more than 7,000 residents in our county and their families fighting the same battle. The only way to help stop this disease is by educating others, helping those with and affected by the disease and supporting research to finally find a cause, treatment, and cure. Your donation helps us to serve the needs of the community. My hope is that one day there will be no Alzheimer's Disease to decimate families.Together, we can work to end Alzheimer's disease. Please help us by making a donation today.
Thank you. Val Ferrero
