For a moment Mom knew it was me. I had been sitting directly in front of her for a while holding her hand. Our faces were just inches apart but our eyes weren't connecting then all of a sudden, she saw me! "Cindy!, Ohhh" She leaned forward and gave me a huge kiss and a hug like she hadn't seen me in a year!!! Then the moment was gone...
Today.....I would give anything to hold her. To hear her call my name. She is gone now but we continue to grieve and we continue to fight. However, now we fight for our children and we fight for those who still have a chance.....
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
