When our grandmother passed away from a rapid form of dementia, we vowed to get anyone in our family help as soon as they showed symptoms. Little did we know that just a few years later, we'd face the same fight with our mom. She has a young person's form of dementia, FTD, and so we walk down a road we never dreamed of going down beginning last winter. We're thankful for the promise that one day everything will be made new, and miss the days when life was easier. So as we pray for a cure, and support funding to find one, we walk to show support for all our friends and family who know the effects of the same horrible disease.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
