I will be walking in the Fort Worth Walk to End Alzheimer's on October 26, 2019 and I'm asking for your support. I'm walking for all those dealing with some form of dementia whether as a person with a diagnosis or the caregiver of a person with a diagnosis but mostly I'm walking for my wife, Paulette.
Paulette and I first became aware of the impact of Alzheimer's disease some twenty years ago when we became caregivers for Paulette's mother, Betty, who suffered with the disease. The Alzheimer's Association was a tremendous help to us then by providing education, resources and support throughout our first journey into the world of Alzheimer's.
Sadly, in January 2017 Paulette, herself, received a diagnosis of dementia of the Alzheimer's type. In the two and a half years since that diagnosis, the Alzheimer's Association continues to be the go-to resource for us. With the help of their support, we remain very positive as we deal with the daily challenges presented by Alzheimer's. We are hopeful that someday the cause and a cure for this disease will be discovered. We know that we are joined by countless families who confront this type of diagnosis daily and who have the same hopes for the future.
Please join me in this fight against this dread disease by making a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
