I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. My dad, Leroy Owen, also known as Podsy finally beat this dreadful disease in May of 2018.  He was a "true" competitor and lived life to the max!  He was bigger than life, the life of the party and the one who welcomed everyone into the family.  He was friends with all and if he couldn't remember your name you were "Pods".

Last year was my first time to participate in the Alzheimer's Walk in honor of my dad.   During the last year,  I have learned of several friends my age and many parents of friends that have been stricken with this terrible disease. So this year I am walking for all of us and hope that you will support Team Bear/Podsy in our efforts to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

 Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
