Please join our family as we walk together to honor the legacy of a man at the very center of our world. We lost our dear Papa this past January to a disease that robbed him of so many happy memories. What Alzheimer's can't steal from this family is our countless memories of him.
Papa impacted so many lives....his 6 children and their spouses, his 17 grandchildren and all of our significant others, his 16 (and counting) great grandchildren....and our Nana, the love of his life. He was also a teacher, a coach, a recreation director, a friend, a mentor, and a great American who proudly served his country. As we said goodbye to our Papa earlier this year, we heard from so many who's lives were touched by this amazing man. Papa truly left this world a better place, and we are all so lucky to have known and loved him.
As we walk to raise money to fight this awful disease, we'll be sharing memories of Papa at every turn. We can assure you that you'll hear about Christmas Eve celebrations, family trips, Camp Hazen adventures, summers by the pool, athletic game cheering and Easter Egg hunts. We'll surely sing the silly songs that Papa sang to us, and we'll have some friendly competitions, which Papa would have led. Papa's life revolved around his family, and we are so lucky to have had so many years of loving him.
Papa lives on in each one of us...and we see him every day in one another. He is now our angel, watching over us each day, and guiding this family towards many more years of memories together. Papa will be very proud as we walk for a cure to end Alzheimers.
