Why do I walk? Simply because my Vovo, Alvaro no longer can. In August of 2013 we lost Vovo to a long five-year battle with Alzheimer's.
Losing Vovo was one of the hardest times in my family’s life, especially for my mom, Adriana. As many of you may or may not know, Vovo was my mom’s best friend and her church buddy. Vovo was a man of many words, well words that I did not always understand due to the language barrier, but even though we may not have always understood each other, I never once questioned his love my family and me.
For the last few years my family and I have walked in honor of my Vovo and to help others stricken with this disease. Won't you help in our effort to help not only those stricken with the disease, but their caregivers. My Vovoa was Vovo’s main caregiver and she did everything for him. If it took answering the same questions 10 times in a row, she did it. She loved him and so did I.
Please consider a donation or joining our walk. Consider $5,$10 or more. No donation is too small.
