Well, first and foremost, I have a confession to make. I AM A LIAR.

This time last year I said I was going to do this thing ONE last time and retire.  After EXCEEDING the goal last year (again) I wanted to take a break from fundraising. I was starting to feel like THAT guy. You know, "hey here's my cause" ad nauseum.

I talked it over with some good folks, and to my surprise, they all said the same thing. "If you keep fundraising, I'll keep donating." In addition to such a great cause, that was the extra push I needed to get back in the fight. So yes, from now until goal time I can assure you that the posts will increase. Also I will probably become increasingly more annoying (if that's even possible) as we push our way to the finish line, dollar by dollar.

To recap:

As some of you may or may not know, my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/Dementia in late 2013. In 2015 decided to form a team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Philadelphia. We kicked so much ass that year I was determined to do it again in 2016. This time in my new hometown of Los Angeles. And yet again, we knocked it out of the park. For the 2017 walk I took the even greater challenge by signing up back in my home town of Erie. This was I could actually walk WITH my mom while be surrounded by family and friends. That one was by far the hardest. We had the same amount to raise but only 90 days to do it instead of 5 months. BUT we DID it. AND…in 2018 we set our OWN record of crushing our goal by OVER 20%!!!

And now on to the new business:

In these past 3 years WE collected over $22,000 entirely by word-of-mouth donations. Family, friends, and even strangers came together for something or some ONE they felt strongly about. And for having no corporate sponsor we were able to remain in the TOP tier of teams for ALL 3 cities. 2 of which are a couple of the largest in the entire country. Go ahead and let that sink in. Yeah, YOU ALL did that!!!

Welp, I think we can do it again. I could go on and on stressing the importance of the cause as well as continuing to you thank everyone but I’ll wrap it up now and just apologize in and for the bombardment of posts for the until we walk in September!

As always, if you can donate, AWESOME. If you can participate in the walk, EVEN BETTER. Hell, even if you just share, WE’LL TAKE THAT TOO!

I thank you in advance for your support and will leave you in the words of my mother…”If you’re alright, then I’m alright.”

So, buckle up (or just mute me) for the next few months because team #MISSMARYGRAVES is BACK!!!

Cheers,

-André
