I am walking in memory of Don Mosemann, the brother of a dear friend. Don died in 2018 at the age of 89 of Alzheimer's disease after living a long, productive life. He and younger brother Dick, followed their Dad into the grocery business in Manheim, PA. When they tried to expand the business, it was determined it was not up to current building codes and they were forced to close. Don and his wife, Marian opened a meat market close by and the family's love for the grocery business continued in a new direction.
Marian cared for Don at home for several years before turning his care over to a nursing home and says that before Alzheimer's he was a sports loving, "agreeable man without a mean bone in his body." Alzheimer's disease can change people and Don was not always "agreeable" once AD started to take a toll on his life.
I welcome the day when no one has to live out their final years suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Together let's find a cure to end this devastating disease
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
