I chose to walk in honor of my father. A few years ago he was diagnosed with dementia. Every day he gets a little more confused. At first it hurt, but I pray for understanding and patience. He asks the same question multiple times, he can’t remember where he is, and can’t recall what he did in the past 24hrs. I know one day he’ll forget who I am when he stares at me, but that will never change how much I love him. I know there are so many families that go through this, or worse, and one day there will be a cure. One day a family will be okay with this diagnosis because there will be a way to stop it. This is why I am choosing to walk. I want to bring awareness to dementia/Alzheimer’s. I want to help with research.
My friends and I will be walking as TEAM EBOT...we hope to raise our goal of $500 (or more) to help with the Alzheimer’s Association
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
