This Labor Day I will be participating in the Olander 24 Hour Endurance Challange at Olander Park in Sylvania, OH. My goal is to complete as close to 100 miles as I can. The past several years I have completed 70 and 71.3 miles. I have called this " The 24 hour run to end the 36 hour day". Many of you may also know that for part of my professional career, my work provided me the opportunity and challenge to fight this disease through the work I did. This experience opened my eyes further to the additional challenges in early identification and treatment and support that could help countless individuals and families get the help and or support they long for.
As of today, there is no cure. That is where the mission and efforts of organizations like the Alzheimer's Association comes in. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. The site to donate is also the site that is supporting The Alzheimer's Associations walks they are involved with this fall to help advance the work they are doing as well.
Thank you for helping me be part of an effort to make a difference!
