News and Announcements

Watch this space to learn about upcoming events and the latest Walk to End Alzheimer's news!

We've seen dramatic growth in team fundraising by connecting Facebook, sharing your fundraising page online, and use of the Walk to End Alzheimer's® mobile app. Starting in 2019, cash and checks received at your local Alzheimer's Association chapter office may take up to three weeks to be reflected in your online fundraising totals. For immediate credit, we encourage teams to download the Walk to End Alzheimer's® mobile app and use the mobile check deposit feature, and continue to make the most of online fundraising resources.

The Alzheimer’s Association chapters serving Ohio - proud Buckeye fans - have challenged our Michigan colleagues - dedicated Wolverine fans - in a head to head fundraising challenge to see who can score the most touchdowns in the fight against Alzheimer’s!

  • Every $10 donated to your local Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be a 10 yard gain for that state. (Example: Every $10 raised by the Mahoning Valley Walk counts as a 10 yard gain for Ohio.)
  • Every $100 donated toward your local Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be touchdown for that state. (Example: Every $100 raised by the Mahoning Valley Walk counts as a touchdown for Ohio.)

Now and leading up to the big OSU-Michigan game on Saturday, Nov. 30, and through Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3, the state who scores the most touchdowns (and raises the most funds to end Alzheimer’s) wins! Follow our Facebook event for daily standings, special challenges and some good-humored smack talking.

Help get us on the board by making a self-donation today!

Sample Why I Walk Sign.jpg

Everyone has a reason to end Alzheimer's. Share your story! For every $500 you individually raise, you are eligible to create a custom sign with text and photos to be displayed along the route on Walk day. After the Walk is over, take your sign home with you to remember the day.
