News and Announcements

Watch this space to learn about upcoming events and the latest Walk to End Alzheimer's news!

We've seen dramatic growth in team fundraising by connecting Facebook, sharing your fundraising page online, and use of the Walk to End Alzheimer's® mobile app. Starting in 2019, cash and checks received at your local Alzheimer's Association chapter office may take up to three weeks to be reflected in your online fundraising totals. For immediate credit, we encourage teams to download the Walk to End Alzheimer's® mobile app and use the mobile check deposit feature, and continue to make the most of online fundraising resources.

We have a great day planned for you and your team members!

Come early and take advantage of everything we have to offer. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Walk to immediately follow through the development behind the Recreation Center.

REGISTRATION
You'll start with Registration if you didn't pick up your registration wristbands at this week's Early Bird Night. You'll need your wristband to receive your free Promise Flower! You can also register, if you haven't done so online already.

If you collected cash/check donations from your supporters, bring those on Walk Day and turn in at Registration.

OFFICIAL WALK T-SHIRT
If you raised $100 individually, stop at the Registration table to get your coupon for your official Walk t-shirt and then visit our volunteers at the t-shirt table to pick up your award. It's not too late to collect donations to earn yours!

CHAMPIONS CLUB
Our Champions Club members who raised $500 or more are encouraged to pick-up their coupon for their medal/shirts at Registration and visit the Champions Club table to receive their awards.

TABLE SCAVENGER HUNT
Make sure you get the official program when you enter so that you can participate in the Table Scavenger Hunt! Collect signatures from the tables on the list and be entered to win a $100 gift card and a huge basket filled with purple items.

BREAKFAST
We'll have coffee, courtesy of FirstLight Home Care, as well as breakfast items donated by Drug Mart, Mancan, Liberty Residence II, Giant Eagle and Brookdale Medina North.

RAFFLE BASKETS
Bring money to purchase raffle tickets to win a variety of amazing baskets, including a VITAMIX blender, a GIGANTIC basket filled with stuffed animals, wine baskets and many others. $10 gets you 26 tickets!

TEAM PHOTOS
Don't miss the opportunity to take your team photo! Capture a special memory from Walk Day.

HOME DEPOT AND COOKIE DECORATING
Home Depot will be there with their kids build-it kits again this year! And, Cool Beans and Honey Bee Bakery will host a cookie decorating station.

You're welcome to bring your furry friend on the Walk OUTSIDE; however, only licensed service dogs are permitted INSIDE the Recreation Center Field House.

Please remember that in order to be in consideration for fundraising awards your money must be turned in by 11:59 P.M. TODAY/Wednesday, September 18, 2019.

We will be awarding the Top Rookie Team, Top Family Team, Top Individual Fundraiser, and the Top Corporate Team at Walk!

**NEW FOR 2019** Due to processing, monies turned in on Early Bird Day may not appear on the Walk website prior to Walk Day on Saturday, September 21; however, they WILL be counted towards awards. We apologize for the processing delay.

We will also award the team with the best purple outfits on Walk Day with the Power of Purple award! Come dressed to impress!

Thank you for your support in the fight for Alzheimer's first survivor. I look forward to seeing you this Saturday! I'll be the tall girl with the purple skirt/capris. Come find me and say hello. I'd love to meet you and your team members in person!

Sample Why I Walk Sign.jpg

Everyone has a reason to end Alzheimer's. Share your story! For every $500 you individually raise, you are eligible to create a custom sign with text and photos to be displayed along the route on Walk day. After the Walk is over, take your sign home with you to remember the day.
