I feel bad that I have not been as aggressive as I should in my fundraising goal. I recently worked with Congresswoman Rice and her wonderful staff regarding her submission of a Young Onset amendment to the Older Americans Act. In working with them and speaking to quite a few people as a result of that press conference, MANY old feelings came back out.  I was never one to push a cause on anyone, but I deeply feel this disease is something we ALL need to stand up and take notice of. NO ONE is safe from the ravages of Alzheimer's Disease. I'm hoping 2019 will be our most successful year yet. I was grateful for the amount we raised last year, but we would LOVE to exceed it this year!

As always, we are walking for Mike, his mom and brother - all victims of this hideous disease. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.

Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. Of those 5 million, approx. 500,000 adults 65 and younger are diagnosed with YOUNG ONSET ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE. This disease does not discrimate and it must be stopped. THIS IS NOT JUST AN OLD PERSON'S DISEASE!
