Mom's journey with dementia ended November 11, 2017. This is my 4th year participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, and the second year I’m walking with a purple flower to represent someone I love and lost to memory loss disease.
It was devastating to watch someone you love lose a piece of who they are every single day. This experience has changed me forever.
Memory loss disease robs families of the people they love, but it also creates heartbreaking emotional stress and financial challenge. My sister and I worked to protect and make sure mom received the care she deserved. Toward the end, mom's ability to tell us she loved us slipped away, but I will always cherish those words she struggled to say.
I've committed to doing my part to help a cure so that other families will never have to go through the pain that ours and so many others have had to endure.
Please support me and Team Mom's Daughters - thank you for your support!
With gratitude, Nancy
