For several years I supported my Mom through her journey with Alzheimer's. As is known by my family and friends, she really made it easy for us. She had supported her Mom, who also had Alzheimer's. Until the end, she wanted us to know that she had a full life and it enjoyed it very much and was happy that she was able to turn 90. She offered to participate in studies so that a cure could be found and we not have to suffer with the Alzheimer's disease. I am forever grateful for the family and friends that supported me during this time and will walk every year supporting a cure for Alzheimer's. As many family and friends are caregiving for someone close, I am committed to continuing to support the Alzheimer's Foundation and its efforts to find a cure.
Last year my friend and neighbor, Lynn, joined me on the walk as shown in the photo above.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
