Most of you know my mother Sandy Risdon was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at the young age of 62. She has been battling this horrible disease for the past 3 years. Every day is a constant struggle of misplacing items, forgetting words or not remembering what she ate 5 minutes ago. With her positive spirits and the support from her family and friends, she doesn't let this disease define who she is. She can still light up a room with her amazing personality, beautiful smile and welcoming heart.
Last year she was able to participate in a medical research study which hopefully will get us 1 step closer to finding a cure. Without donations that study would have never happened.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Every little bit helps. Also, most companies will match your donations to the $1, so don't forget to submit the matching gifts through your company.
