Dear Family and Friends:
It is that time of year again when I come to you to talk about Alzheimers Disease and related disorders and how we can fight them together. The annual fundraising event, the Walk to End Alzheimers Disease, will be held in Central Massachusetts on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 105 North Parkway, Worcester. This is a new location with great parking and a similar walk route. In addition to the Walk itself, the event includes vendors offering services to families and individuals, activities for kids, music and a moving ceremony honoring individuals with Alzheimer's Disease, caregivers, and advocates.
We all know families affected by these illnesses and we all need to fight them together. All of the funds raised by the Walk (and other Walks around the country) help the Alzheimers Association advance important research into earlier diagnosis and better treatments. We are starting to see some promising trends. And for the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide. All of their services are available at no cost to participants.
As an Aging Life Care™ professional, I work with families every day who are confronting Alzheimers Disease and related disorders and their devastating effects. I walk in honor and in memory of all of my clients who are or were affected by these terrible diseases. I have also confronted this disease in my own family. I would be happy to have less work if it meant that all of these diseases had been defeated. I am a member of the Central Massachusetts Alzheimers Partnership, a coalition of professionals working with and serving families dealing with these diseases. So, I am working on many levels to fight Alzheimers and related disorders and I will continue until we are victorious.
My personal goal this year is $2,500. I am the captain of a new team this year, JHC On The Move. As many of you know, I have moved my professional practice to the Jewish Healthcare Center where I continue to provide independent advocacy and support to families and older adults. I am excited to be working within a larger organization and to have more opportunities to raise funds as a team. I invite you to join us in walking and raising funds from your own contacts. I welcome your company and your support. Contributions in any amount are very important and very much appreciated.
If you would rather not walk, please visit the website at My Fundraising Page http://act.alz.org/goto/JHContheMove_Deb or, if you prefer, you can send a check to the Alzheimer's Association to me at 92 Barry Road, Worcester, MA 01609. I will forward it to the Association.
Together we can make a difference!
All the best,
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
