As most of you know, my mother embarked on this journey some six years ago. First my father passed away, then mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and her world was literally turned upside down. I walk for my mom and the millions of others that suffer from this hideous disease. After all, she is my mom, the women who raised me to be the women I am today. She can still put a smile on my face, and she can still make me cry…I will always be there to hold her hand, through thick or thin, just like she was, and still is, for me. SHE is why I walk!
More than 16 million American's provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer's or other dementia's. By 2019, Alzheimer's and other dementia's will cost the United States $290 billion, this number is expected to rise to over $1.1 trillion by 2050.
I'm asking for your support to do my part. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
It’s time we kick Alzheimer’s butt once and for all!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
