I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
My Amazing Mother is one of those Americans. For the last few years I have helped my Father care for my Mother both in Fort Myers, Florida and in Chicago IL. My Mother was always the rock of our family along with my Father. She would do anything for her Husband, Children and Grandchildren now it is my turn to do what I can for her. This disease robs not just my Mother of her quality of life but the whole family.
It is a cruel disease one that we must continue to fight and advocate for but more importantly we help to fund Alzheimer's research for those working tirelessly to find that cure so that we can one day live in a world where others do not have to suffer the cruelty of having their minds taken from them.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association and help me not only honor the women who gave so much to her family friends but also my Uncle Gary, Aunt Jenny, a very special Mother Gail Schultz, and Jerie the Mother of my sweet friend writer Lauren Dykovitz and all those that have lost loved ones because of this cruel disease.
