In the United States someone develops Alzheimer’s every 65 seconds and more than 5 million Americans are living with the disease. There is no cure. There are more than 16 million caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias in the United States. For 10 years, my dad was one of those caregivers.
My mom, Kris Bell, is currently fighting this disease. She joined the Grandview Alzheimer's Special Care community in September 2018 after my dad could no longer care for her in their home. He visits her twice a day, every day, and continues to be the most important part of her life. Even though mom's Alzheimer's is at an advanced stage, our family can still connect and communicate with her in meaningful ways. Our first-hand experience with Alzheimer's has been an emotional and heartbreaking journey.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Our family is pleased to partner with Grandview Guys and Gals to raise money for this year's Peoria Walk to End Alzheimer's. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. I truly appreciate your consideration.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
