I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Since mom was diagnosed in August of 2017, her memory has rapidly declined. She can’t formulate her thoughts and words at times, and still experiences sundowning episodes. She hasn’t walked in more than 2 years... it’s like her brain stopped telling her how to move her legs. The hardest thing to accept is she still mentions dad as if he is still alive. Dad has been gone since May 15, 2018. When mom talks of dad still being around, it’s upsetting. Luckily mom still remembers me and her loved ones.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Help me reach and surpass my goal of raising $2,500.00 for this worthy cause.
