I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
My wife, Judy, is one of those with Alzheimer’s and has been residing at the Heartwood House in the Northcrest Community in Ames. The facility is 1.1 miles from our house so I have been making 2 round trip trips each day. My summer fundraiser has been Walking to End Alzheimer’s. I have walked 856 miles from May 1st to August 31st. My suggestion for those wanting to donate may donate 1, 5 or 10 cents a mile.
Our goal ifor 2018 is to raise $4,000 so anything you can donate will help me reach our goal. You can go to end.alz.org/walk. Enter Ames, IA and select our team name Judy’s Angels to donate
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
