On March 25, 2019, dementia stole Grandmother from us after more than five years battling frontotemporal dementia (FTD). A dreadful disease, FTD is a rare dementia that attacks the brain, degrading the cognitive, social, and physical function of its victims. We miss her daily, but are grateful she is at peace now.
The Alzheimer’s Association funds all types of dementia research in the pursuit of the first dementia survivor EVER. The Alzheimer’s Association also provides invaluable support and resources to families and caregivers facing the rapidly changing realities of life with this cruel disease. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, we are showing our commitment to raising awareness and funds for all types of dementias' research, care and support.
The Alzheimer's Association was a vital resource for our family as we faced each stage of Grandmother’s decline. Please consider making a donation to help advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for brain degenerating diseases and to support their broad programs and resources for caregivers.
Our team, True Love Ways (which, by the way, was Grandmother and Pop's 'song' from their courtship over 53 years ago!), has committed to raise $10,000 and we are asking for your support! And, of course, we would love for you to join us on Walk Day! Please consider joining our team to show support for friends and families faced with ever-changing and often unpleasant realities.
