My dad, Joe, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2012 when he was 56 years old. He is my inspiration for participating in the walk and joining the fight to find a cure!
My dad is the best! I've always been Daddy's little girl. He's one of my best friends. My dad is my fishing buddy. I basically refuse to go with anyone else! He taught me how to tie and bait my own hook, how to take a fish off, and he passed on to me all the fishing knowledge that he learned from his dad. My dad is the one I sit with on the back porch while drinking a cold beer, talking about everything under the sun. He's the one that I got my good taste in music from...no offense Mom! My dad has always been so full of life, always looking on the bright side of things. He’s a reminder that even though we all have to grow old, we don’t have to act like it. Despite his diagnosis, he still has the same positive outlook. He’s thankful every day for the life he has, his family and his friends.
I can't describe how thankful I am for the Alzheimer's Association and all of the countless volunteers working so hard to give us all that HOPE. I'm committed to raising awareness and donations in order to reach the ultimate goal - CURING ALZHEIMER'S! Together we can make that happen! Please join me in this fight by joining my team or by making a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
This is for you Daddy! I will never stop fighting for you! I will never stop fighting for a cure! I love you always!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
