2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Friday, September 20, 2019

Time: Registration starts at 5 p.m., Opening Ceremony at 5:30 p.m., Walk begins at 6 p.m.

Registration will be at the corner of 11th Street & Broadway

Route Length: Approximately 1.75 miles

Location: 1100 Block, Uptown

Walk Day is RAIN OR SHINE! If we need to cancel due to weather, you will receive an email the morning of the event.

Do I have to register to Walk? Yes, we want to know you’re walking with us and need every walker to sign a standard waiver through their official registration. There is no registration fee to Walk. However, we ask every walker to make a personal donation to commit to raising funds in the fight against Alzheimer’s.

When is my last chance to register online before Walk day? Friday, September 20 at 9:00am, After 9am, all registrations must be done on Walk day at the “Registration” tent.

Do I need to register my children for the Walk? Yes, children should register. Parents/guardians can register children online or complete an offline registration form and sign the waiver on behalf of the child.

Are pets, strollers, bicycles and skates allowed on Walk day? We do allow strollers, but for everyone’s safety, we discourage skateboards and bicycles. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash at all times.

The top 10 teams will be recognized during the Walk ceremony! 

Please park in the RiverCenter or CB&T parking garages. Both are free.

The 1000 block of Broadway will be closed to traffic.

Bring lawn chairs, blankets and coolers and stay for the Concert! The Tom Petty Tribute Band, "The Breakdowns", will start playing at 7 p.m.

If you are getting this email, you are Pre-Registered. Please visit the Already Registered table when you get to Uptown. There, you will receive your wristband. You need a wrist band to get your free Forget-Me-Not flower.

If you have funds to turn in, please turn it in at the Registration Table too!

If you have raised more than $100, you get a t-shirt! Visit the T-shirt table next!

If you have raised more than $500, you get a Champion Medal! You will receive that at the Registration Table!

If you have raised more than $1,000, you get a Grand Champion t-shirt! They will also be located at the t-shirt table!

If you have raised more than $2,500, you get an Elite Champion Shirt!  They will also be located at the t-shirt table!

Don't forget to get your Forget Me Not Flower!

Remember!

The Orange flower symbolizes that you are an Alzheimer's Association Volunteer and/or Advocate.

The Purple flower symbolizes that you have lost a loved one to Alzheimer's.

The Yellow flower symbolizes that you are a caregiver.

The Blue flower symbolizes that you have Alzheimer's.

Please stay on the sidewalks during the route and observe all traffic lights, signs and cross signals.

Enjoy face painting for the kids! 

Columbus Bank Day/Early Bird Check-in will be Wednesday, September 18th from 12pm-6pm at the Alzheimer's Association office, 5156 River Road, Suite M, Columbus 31904.
