Alzheimer’s Disease. We’ve all heard of it, yet if one hasn’t supported a patient or a caregiver then you don’t know how this diagnosis affects the entire family.
Team Clearwater supports the Alzheimer’s Association in memory Richard Auclair, who passed away on March 13, 2019. He was the most incredible father and husband any girl or wife could have imagined. His daughters’ strongest supporter. A doting husband. A beloved physician for hundreds, maybe thousands. The man who could do literally anything. Except maybe hit a straight drive on the golf course, much to his dismay.
His father died from Alzheimer’s, so we were watchful for the signs. We began to notice little indications at first. Then over the years the severity of the symptoms increased. Our family has been rocked by this disease, as have the families of so many others.

Why Team Clearwater?
Mom gets full credit for naming Team Clearwater before I (Tara) hosted the first Walk to End Alzheimer's. It's a nod to our last name, which means "clear water" in French.
Why Should We #EndAlz?
Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are living with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, 16 million friends and family members are providing their care. We must take action now, or these numbers will continue to rise.
How You Can Help
