There isn't a family that has not been affected by Alzheimer's. Ours suffered the loss of a great man last May due to complications related to Alzheimer's. Meet my grandfather "Escolastico Ricardo Pazos" it's a tough one but so was Abuelo Pazos. Abuelo had been struggling with Alzheimer's for a while before his passing, his mom/my great-grandmother, which I was lucky enough to meet, suffered the same fate. It has to be one of the saddest transformations of a person's character I have ever seen. There were moments when they knew who I was and others when they didn't. I'm blessed to have enjoyed them both for so many years but I'm also afraid of what my family will endure in the future due to Alzheimer's.
Please help me in leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
