I'm walking in memory of my grandma, Dorothy White, who passed away from Alzheimer"s at the age of 91.
Grandma loved spending time with family! If you visited, plan on eating too! Care for some turkey and potatoes, how about some chicken soup? Don't forget, save room for dessert; she'd whip up crullers in no time at all.
I remember when she passed down the family recipe and taught me how to make crullers. "Roll the dough gently, so the crullers won't be tough". She was so fast and without measuring , somehow knew how much to use every time. Of course, they came out perfect!
She also adored the Yankees! I think I got my baseball addiction from her.
Helping others was a strong trait of hers as well. Maybe that is why she did volunteer work for 4 decades! Thinking about our loved ones brings to mind these wonderful memories. Grandma is an Angel watching over us and will remain in my heart forever.
It is heartbreaking to see what Alzheimer's takes away. I am joining the fight in the hope that one day we won't have to!
