I became interested in Alzheimer's disease after I started to primarily work in settings that provided care to the elderly. Around that time information about changes in the aging brain that affected cognition and function were being associated with a "new" disease called "Alzheimer's disease". Little did I know then that my mother and eventually my brother would develop Alzheimer's disease and my father, vascular dementia.
Since then relatives (Aunt Fran, Cousin Eric)) and friend's parents (Bunny K, Cathy B, Gary B) also became afflicted until there are now many people I know, or know of, that have or had the disease. My hope is that if all of us do whatever we can to help find a cure, eventually it will happen, and future generations like our children, grandchildren and other family members and friends will no longer have to suffer from this disease.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
