I've been walking and volunteering for the Alzheimer's Association in Denver for the past nine years. We lost my mom, Anne Ridley, to Alzheimer's and Lewy Body disease in 2010. Anne was a Latin teacher, a world traveler, a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan, a great mom and friend. Alzheimer's is horrible disease which steals so much, but most importantly steals your soul. I walk in memory of Anne, those who have lost their battles and those who continue to fight today and will fight in the future.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
