Hi, I'm Cara.
My amazingly kind, smart, humble, strong, loving, funny father has early on-set Alzheimer's. I'm walking in support of an organization that I have relied on and will continue relying on for guidance and support to help me find the best path possible to support my family on this journey into the unknown.
This year I'm dedicating my Walk to my warrior mother- my dad's caregiver. Her patience, resilience, and unconditional love blows me away. I am grateful for her everyday, while also upset this is her new reality- so I walk to bring awareness and hope for a future without Alz.
I'm also walking to help raise awareness and funds to support the research needed to change the coarse of this disease.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
