After 9 years since her diagnosis of Young Onset Alzheimer's Disease, Sharon spends her days constantly shuffling along the hallways of the dementia care center she has lived in since January, 2013. She has retreated into a solitary world and has lost her ability to communicate. She no longer expresses any emotion. She is comfortable and well cared for, but her quality of life sucks. She was admitted to hospice care in August.
My YomamaCare team and I walk in support of Sharon and all the sufferers of this devastating disease and other dementias to raise public awareness and to raise funds to help finance research for a cure and help caregivers.
Please join us by signing up for the team and walking with us on October 12 in San Jose. The walk is a positive event in the midst of the horrors of this disease.
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
