Mama Nasby (Mary Elizabeth Nasby) joined the angels on June 25, 2019 at 93 years young. After more than 44 years of teaching Home Economics in Wakulla County, Florida she retired. Following a stroke in 2009, she moved to the Bay Area where she thrived until 2017.
In the last few years, Alzheimer's has slowly taken away her memory and ultimately destroyed her body. It is my greatest hope that a cure can be found for this horrific and debilitating disease that transforms many mamas (and daddies) into people who feel like strangers to us.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
We must find a cure for this disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Any amount is appreciated and if you'd prefer to give your time, please reach out to me directly and I'll share some ways in which you can further the cause.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
