My good friend Alison passed away last year from Alzheimer's at the age of 62. She was funny and sweet - an unpretentious but insightful member of our long-standing book club. She was passionate about being a mother and a lover of all animals. I think of her every time I plant a new plant - she taught me to pull apart root bound plants to make sure they'd thrive. Typical - Alison brought life to every encounter.
So "Alison's Angel's" are marching again this year, heavier in heart having lost her since our first walk. Unbelievable as it may be, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. All of our futures are at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
