I am walking for my mother, Sherry. She was diagnosed with early onset Alz in 2013. While she is fighting hard and continues be the sweet, caring person to all that know her, the disease is progressing. Each year we lose a little bit more of her. This disease not only affects the one with it, but it is extremely hard for those like my father which care for her on a daily basis.
I'm helping lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. The number of deaths from this disease is increased by 145% since 2000. 2/3 of which are women.
Alz's is the only disease in the 10 leading causes of death in the US that cannot be cured, prevented or slowed. Please help us in this fight by supporting those you know with the disease, as well as the caregivers who work so hard to support those diagnosed. I am participating with my family this year in the LA walk Nov 3rd. My goal is to reach $1,000 by that time (40 days from this post). If you are able to help me reach this goal with a financial donation, please do so. Any amount, no matter how small will help in the fight to find a cure. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
