This past year has been the first time in over five years that I wasn’t traveling back to Texas every 4-6 weeks to be with my ailing parents. Since my father's passing in April 2017 from the effects of Alzheimer’s disease, I have tried to be more of an advocate and a source of knowledge to those whose Alzheimer's journeys are on-going. I continue to enjoy volunteering at the Alzheimer’s Association here in Tucson and this past year Barry and I were on the committee for the annual Wine to Remember fund raiser for the Tucson Alzheimer’s chapter. I was asked by the Director of the local chapter to share my story at the event on how the Alzheimer’s Association helped me with my family’s challenging journey. Not sure if I could do this without crying, I told him I would have to give it some thought. I prayed and asked my Dad to give me the strength to do it and much to the amazement of my friends and family at the event, I made it through without a tear! This will be my 11th year doing the walk and my 4th year as my company's team captain. Once again I pledge to do what I can to support efforts to prevent, treat and cure this disease, but I will need your help. Please consider joining me at the walk on November 10th or by making a donation that will help fund research, education and care programs. Because of your support, hopefully we all will soon see the first survivor of this horrible disease! The End to Alzheimer's begins here! Thank you!
Thank you for helping us advance Alzheimer's support, care and research!
