Why I Ride: My Grandmother, my Uncle and my Mother all had Alzheimer's and now it's my turn!
I was in a drug trial at Mayo Clinic for the drug Aducanumab for 2 1/2 years. During that time my cognition improved. My doctor told me he has waited all his life to tell someone that! Fast forward to last week. I was at Mayo for a follow up and went through the cognition testing again. My doctor was so excited to tell me that my cognition has remained steady after having stopped the drug over 2 years ago!
Research on Aducanumab and other drugs is so important! Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Which is why I am asking for your support. I am participating on the Ride to End ALZ, a fully-supported, one day fundraising event where every dollar raised supports the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer’s disease.
With each mile I ride, I am raising funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s. Thank you for cheering me on.
Love you all!
