Our Goal

We're walking in 2021 — and we invite you to join us.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® is full of flowers, each carried by someone committed to ending this disease. Because like flowers, our participants don't stop when something's in their way. They keep raising funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

Walk to End Alzheimer's is happening — and you can join us at your local event or Walk From Home in your neighborhood. No matter where you participate, know that your health and safety are our top priorities. All local events will implement safety protocols including physical distancing, contactless registration, hand sanitizing stations and more. Per CDC guidelines around crowded outdoor settings, we ask that all Walk attendees be vaccinated against COVID-19 or wear a mask when in an overcrowded area. Masks will be available on-site.

We will continue to closely monitor CDC, state and local guidelines to ensure Walk events adhere to recommendations and are safe for attendees. If you prefer to Walk From Home, you can still engage in many Walk-day experiences through our mobile app.

 Due to the recent oil spill, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s - Huntington Beach on October 16 is moving to the Bella Terra outdoor shopping center. Thank you in advance to our participants who refuse to stop. Where there is a Walk, there is a way. See below for additional details.

NEW LOCATION
Bella Terra Outdoor Shopping Center
7645 Edinger Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647
The event will be by the fountain area between Solita restaurant and King’s Seafood restaurant.  
Parking is free. 

The route is approximately 1 mile long and is wheelchair and stroller friendly.

EVENT TIME
Venue and Walk Route Open: 8 a.m.
Promise Garden Ceremony: 9 a.m.
Walk Begins: 9:30 a.m.

Participants may begin walking the route at any time after 8 a.m.

And don’t miss a FREE LIVE POST-WALK CONCERT by Sherri & the Regular Joes immediately following the walk on the main stage.

SAFETY DETAILS
The Walk to End Alzheimer's has been planned with the health and safety of our constituents, staff and volunteers as our top priority.  The event will include: contactless registration, masks welcomed and available on site, physical distancing, appropriate spacing of tables to avoid crowds, shortened Promise Garden Ceremony, open start line (begin walking whenever you want!) and hand sanitizing stations.

All participants should register prior to Walk day at act.alz.org/hb 
Everyone joining in person must be registered, including children.

 We will have a check-in/welcome table at the entrance should you have questions, need to register or drop off a donation. 

Strollers, wheelchairs and wagons are welcome.
Friendly dogs on a leash are invited to join us too!

Donations will be taken on Walk day via mobile payment and cash/check on-site drop box.

Be sure to wear your purple and carry your Walk flags! Take a selfie or photo of your team and post on social media using #Walk2EndALZ, #ENDALZ and #ENDALZOC

T-SHIRTS 
Participants who have earned their t-shirt by raising $100 or more four weeks prior to the walk, should have recieved their t-shirt via mail. If you earned your t-shirt less than 4 weeks prior to the walk, it will be mailed to you after the walk date. We will not be handing out t-shirts on walk day

PROMISE FLOWERS 
Promise Flowers will be available at the Walk. Come by the Promise Flower Garden on walk day and pick your flower.

CHAMPIONS CLUB
If you are a Champion fundraiser, raising $500 or more, come walk-thru the Champions Club Area to be celebrated, take a picture and pick up a treat!

WALK FROM HOME
For those who will be walking from home or another location, you can engage in many Walk Day experiences through our mobile app:
