Hi Friends and Family,
Did you know 1 in 10 people age 65 and older has Alzheimer's dementia? If you don't already know, Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Furthermore, women are at the epicenter of the Alzheimer’s epidemic. Nearly two-thirds of the Americans living with Alzheimer’s – and more than 60 percent of Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers – are women.
The photo is from 2016 when Ellie met her Great-grandmother Billie Moore for the first time. Billie was a teacher and after her retirement she was diagnosed with Alzheimer and she passed away in 2018. Katie and I were glad to spend some time with her and introduced Ellie.
In memory of Billie and many others who are affected by Alzheimer, I am joining the RivALZ Blondes vs Brunettes to help fundraise for research for Alzheimer.
I hope you will join me and my team in the search for cure for Alzheimer by making a donations. Sponsorship is also available, let me know if you are interested. All donations $25 and above will get you entrance to the game on May 6th!
Thank you for helping us tackle this disease - win or lose, our true goal is a world without Alzheimer's! You can find more info on RivALZ here: https://act.alz.org/site/TR/BvB/TX-HoustonampSoutheastTexas?pgentry&fr_id16015
