Hi everyone,
My name is Sidney Rodgers, and I’m excited to return for my 3rd season with BvB RivALZ Houston, tackling Alzheimer’s and dementia head-on. My inspiration is my grandfather, Aubrey Wayne Bounds, who has been battling dementia for many years. My only regret is not joining this incredible organization sooner—maybe by now, there would have been medicine to protect him and his memories.
Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia, a devastating disease that steals memories, independence, joy, and precious time from those affected, their loved ones, and caregivers. I advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association by participating in an all-women’s powderpuff flag football game every year. Our mission is to raise funds for cutting-edge research, support programs, and the dream of a future free from this disease.
Why an all-women’s flag football game? Here’s a staggering fact: nearly two-thirds of those affected by Alzheimer’s are women. Beyond fundraising, I’m here to spread awareness and fight for change.
If you or someone you know has been touched by Alzheimer’s or dementia, please consider donating. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.
