I thought about what to include in my story but nothing has really changed in a year....Every 67 seconds, someone in America develops Alzheimer's. It is estimated that nearly 500,000 new cases of Alzheimer's disease will be diagnosed this year. One in 9 people over the age of 65 have Alzheimer's disease so it is statistically inevitable that this will affect you or a loved one in your senior years.
The story is the same. So we continue to treat new patients, pray for them and their families, and ride to raise funds, awareness and just general support.
So once again this year I'll be participating in the Ride to End ALZ South Carolina with the Calder Brothers Cycling Team along with a few hundred other cycling enthusiasts. We will ride a 255-mile journey in three days to raise funds for the research, care and support efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
The ride begins Friday July 14 and donations can be made thru the end of July. Thank you for donating and cheering us on!
Cheer Me On!
