By participating in this event, I've committed to raising awareness and funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk and we must come together to change the course of this disease.
This disease has touched me personally in so many ways. I watched my grandmother suffer towards the end of her battle with it. It was like she was not even my grandmother any longer.
Now my uncle is suffering from it too. When I was growing up, my uncle was always my mother's cool younger brother. Then when I was older he was a titan of business. He always had his stuff together. Always going places, traveling and so full of life. When my father passed away, it was my uncle who was there to offer sound advice and a steady hand during that hard time. It's sad to watch this man I have known, loved and looked up to, turn into a shell of a human. He certainly struggles daily and I can't even see a glimpse into the man he used to be.
Please support my efforts by making a donation. All funds raised benefit the Alzheimer's Association and its work to enhance care and support programs and advance research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease!
Cheer Me On!
