2x More Likely
Why We Ride: Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and over 11 million are acting as their caregivers. African Americans are 2x more likely to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and Latinos are 1.5 more likely. What is devasting about this is that people of color are not included in the clinical trials and this must change. There is research out there for which people of color can participate and it is important to make ensure that the community is aware and it is important that people of color participate so that if someone of color is diagnosed then the physicians can make the best choice for treatment available based on several factors.
As "Team 2x More Likely" we ride to raise funds and we ride raise awareness too. We are going the distance for all those affected while raising funds and awareness to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. But together, we can help change that. 100 percent of the funds raised from this event will go toward the Association’s efforts to discover methods of treatment and prevention for Alzheimer's and other dementias.
Alzheimer’s touches all of us, and it will take all of us to end it. Please join our team or donate today.
