Why I Ride: Last year's Ride to End Alzheimer's was a huge success. OK, it rained hard the entire time and you could literally wring me out when I was done, but thanks to you, I raised over $6,000 and was the ride's 10th biggest fundraiser!!! I still haven't decided whether I'm going to do another metric (65-ish miles) or attempt the full century (100-mile) this year, but either way I guarantee it will be tough. These punishing rides remind us that Alzheimer's is a struggle, and that finding a cure will take an all-out effort. Every time I read about another research breakthrough over this past year, I thought of that cold, wet ride and was so grateful to have had an opportunity to help in a small way. To those of you who supported me in raising a total of over $10,000 in 2023 and 2024, I can't thank you enough! I don't take your support for granted and hope I can earn it again this year.
