Hi everyone and welcome to my fundraising page! Many may know that my dad passed away as a result of mixed dementia (Alzheimer's and frontotemporal dementia) a few years ago. Unfortunately, this disease has affected many others in my family, as well as so many others in the world. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease, often talked about as "the long goodbye" as you slowly see your loved ones change and lose themselves. If you have somebody close to you that suffers from this horrible disease then you know the pain that comes from seeing them decline. Although this disease has hurt our family and caused much pain, the Lord also used our time caring for my dad as a way to strengthen us and teach us the importance of enduring hard things. In recent years Matt and I have decided to challenge ourselves in different "hard things"... a half marathon, a triathlon and now a 100 mile bike ride. Were excited for this new challenge, but even more excited to fundraise for a cause we are so passionate about: raising money to promote research and help for those who suffer from Alzheimer's or know someone who does. We both need to raise $500 to be able to join in person on May 3rd, and would be grateful for your support... whether that is to give financially, join our team to ride with us or your encouragement and prayer as we prepare. Thank you everyone!!
