This July, I'll be participating in the Ride to End ALZ South Carolina, a three-day, 255 mile (410.38 kilometers) cycling journey across the state of South Carolina. We will ride from Simpsonville in the upstate to Charleston on the coast. The purpose of the ride is to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association and the funds will be used for research to slow, stop and ultimately cure Alzheimer's. Our overall goal is to raise $1,500,000. I hope to do my bit by raising $2,500.
We all know someone who has been affected by this terrible disease. My mother suffered from Alzheimer's in her final years. It was a daily challenge for my brothers, sisters and I to care for her. Despite many difficulties, the experience brought us together and made us better persons.
Today, more than 6 million Americans are living with this disease, and over 11 million family members and friends provide them with care. I want to help speed up the research being made in the fight to end Alzheimer's.
Right now, there is no shortage of ideas in Alzheimer’s research — only dollars. Will you join me by making a donation today? Just click the link below.

We will reach our overall goal if enough people contribute, regardless of the amount.
With each mile I ride, and every dollar raised, I am confident we will get closer to more treatments and ultimately finding that first survivor of Alzheimer’s. I have never attempted a rise as ambitious and demanding as this, but I am determined to do this for all those affected by Alzheimer's. Your contribution will help cheer me on!
