My Dad, Jim Kiser, passed away from the effects of Alzheimer's disease on December 4th, 2023; my Mom, Joan Kiser, in March 2020; my Grandmother, and Joan's Mother Hattie Petrea in October, 1990.
Including these loved ones, I have many friends and relatives who've had to deal with the challenges of seeing family members decline from dementia. For me, my uncle George, my father-in-law Joe, and my great-uncle Amos.
For all of these folks, I'll by cycling in my third Ride to End Alzheimer's South Carolina July 12th-14th. We'll be raising money for the research and support efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. And I'll be riding for Team Purple again!
The Ride to End ALZ is a 3-day, 255 mile journey across South Carolina from Simpsonville to Charleston, with over 500 cyclists participating.
Our goal this year is to raise 1.5 million dollars! My goal is $5100 ($20 per mile).
Please think of the people in your life affected by Alzheimer's and dementia, and those who may be in future. And please let me know if you'd like me to print the name of someone you'd like to remember on my race number!
Thank you for contributing and cheering me on!
Cheer Me On!
